Mossburn Community Farm

"Mossburn Community Farm - has been working in conjunction with Unique Solutions for the past three years. Our job is to take in children and young people with learning and or behavourial difficulties and we use our rescued animals as a tool in the young peoples development. On occasion our youngsters become capable of undertaking formal training, either The Youth Apprenticeship Scheme or SVQ levels 1,2and 3 and it is to Unique Solutions we turn to provide the relevant training. Because they are a small and caring company their input to our youngsters does not stop there, on numerous occasions they have taken on placements of ours for whom no funding has been available and have put them through courses of their own devising in order to boost the self esteem and confidence of these youngsters. Over the years we have built up an extremely useful and caring partnership which we here at Mossburn value and hope will continue for many years to come".

Hospedia have found working with Unique Solutions a very positive experience. Our staff work a variety of shifts but Unique were always flexible and accommodated our needs. The staff that have taken the VQ's have demonstrated a great deal of enthusiasm for their learning and have grown in confidence and stature since completing their qualifications.  Unique Solutions approach to training has given us higher engagement levels from the group they have been working with.  They seem to be leading the way in changing industry perceptions as they have moved away from "easy to achieve" NVQ's and therefore being undervalued by employers.  The focus now seems to be "demonstrating understanding" and "real work experience" which fits into our learning & development approach.
